Thai Long Grain Rice

Thai Long Grain Rice: kow

Rice is known as 'kow' in Thailand, and is the main-stay in the diets of Thailand, as well as other Asian countries. The most well-known type of Thai-rice is the Jasmine variety, a long-grain form which has been fragranced by jasmine flowers.

Long-grain Thai rice is generally softer and more aromatic than any other form of rice. It is also fairly sticky, and one can enjoy the most of its flavors when the rice is prepared by steaming, which fluffs up the rice, allowing it to keep the body of its natural aromatic flavors and qualities. You can find this rice in most grocery stores, health-food shops and Asian markets, and it is usually available in both brown and white varieties.
